DNS Providers
Where Infraova gets access to the DNS infrastructure it can monitor and operate on behalf of your clients.
Why DNS connections matter
DNS is the foundation of every domain's infrastructure. SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX, and every other authentication or routing record lives in DNS. When something breaks — a misconfigured SPF record, a missing DMARC policy, a changed MX record — it shows up in DNS first. Connecting Infraova to the DNS provider where your client domains live gives Infraova the access it needs to monitor those records and execute approved fixes.
Supported providers
Infraova connects to the DNS providers most commonly used by agencies managing client infrastructure. Each provider has its own connection method, permission model, and set of supported operations.
Note
See the individual provider documentation for connection instructions, required permissions, and supported operations specific to that provider.
What Infraova reads from DNS
Once connected, Infraova reads the full DNS zone for each domain it monitors. This includes A and CNAME records, MX records, TXT records containing SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configuration, NS records, and SOA records. Infraova maps the complete zone and tracks changes over time — so when something changes unexpectedly, the detection is immediate.
What Infraova can change in DNS
For approved remediations, Infraova can create, update, and delete DNS records through the provider API. The specific operations available depend on the permissions granted during connection setup. Infraova never modifies DNS records without an approved proposal — the write access is only exercised after an authorized operator approves the specific change.
Permissions and least privilege
Infraova recommends connecting with the minimum permissions required for the operations you want to enable. For monitoring only, read access to DNS zones is sufficient. For remediation, write access to DNS records is additionally required. Provider-specific documentation covers the exact permission scopes needed for each provider.
Multiple providers
If your clients have domains across multiple DNS providers, connect all of them. Infraova tracks which provider each domain is on and routes operations to the correct provider automatically. There is no limit on the number of DNS provider connections.
Provider-specific documentation
Each supported provider has its own documentation page covering the connection process, required credentials, supported operations, and any provider-specific behavior. Select your provider to get started.
