How to start monitoring infrastructure

Set up continuous monitoring across a domain portfolio and configure alert thresholds.

BusinessAgencyEnterprise·6 min read

The situation

Continuous monitoring means Infraova checks every domain on a regular cadence — detecting changes, new failures, and degradation before they become client-visible problems.

Before you begin

Domains added to Infraova
Alert email or Slack configured
Understanding of which domains are highest priority

The operational path

01Add domains
02Configure alerts
03Set priorities
04Monitor
05Review detections

The goal isn't just to find the error. The goal is to move from detection to a verified infrastructure state.

What could have caused this?

Cause

What changed

Possible impact

No alert configured

Detections happen but nobody is notified

Issues sit unreviewed

All domains equal priority

No triage — everything looks urgent

Alert fatigue, slower response

Monitoring not enabled

Scans only run manually

Problems missed between manual checks

Step by step

01Confirm all domains are added

Monitoring only works for domains that are in Infraova. Make sure your full portfolio is added before configuring alerts.

What to check

✓Review the domain list and confirm all monitored domains are present
✓Import any missing domains via CSV or DNS provider connection
✓Assign domains to the correct clients
02Configure alert channels

Infraova detects issues continuously — but someone needs to be notified when something important happens.

What to check

✓Go to Settings → Notifications
✓Set an alert email address
✓Optionally configure a Slack webhook for team notifications
✓Confirm alerts are enabled for Critical and High severity issues

With Infraova

Infraova alerts include the domain, the client, the severity, and the proposed next action — so your team has context before they open the dashboard.

03Run baseline scans

Before relying on continuous monitoring, run an initial scan across all domains to establish the baseline.

What to check

✓Trigger scans for all newly added domains
✓Review the results and address any Critical issues
✓Use the baseline as the reference point for future change detection

Expected result: All domains have a baseline. Infraova will now detect deviations from this state continuously.

You decide. Infraova executes.

Infraova can propose and execute an approved infrastructure change, but it does not independently decide to modify client infrastructure. Every proposed change requires explicit authorization before execution.

↓Infraova diagnoses
↓Infraova proposes
↓YOU APPROVE
↓Infraova executes
↓Infraova verifies

Key takeaway

Monitoring is only useful if alerts reach the right people. Configure notifications first, confirm coverage second, and let Infraova handle the continuous checking.

Turn this playbook into a continuous workflow

Without Infraova

Someone discovers the issue
↓Someone investigates manually
↓Someone decides what to do
↓Someone makes the change
↓Someone checks whether it worked

With Infraova

Monitor
↓Detect
↓Prioritize
↓Propose
↓Approve
↓Remediate
↓Verify
↓Record

The guide teaches you how to solve the problem once. Infraova keeps watching for it after you're done.

Stop discovering infrastructure problems manually.

Infraova continuously monitors your client and business infrastructure, identifies meaningful problems, proposes the next action, executes approved changes, and verifies the result.
